The MINIACE debuted in 1967 as a light-duty truck equipped with an 800cc air-cooled horizontally opposed 2-cylinder OHV engine (2U-B) that produces a maximum output of 36ps, the same as Publica commercial vehicles (vans and trucks).
The body size is the same size as the base Publica (total length 3,585 mm, total width 1,380 mm) except for the total height, achieving a minimum turning radius of 3.9 m, which is comparable to that of a mini vehicle. On the other hand, by securing a capacity of 500 kg, which is 150 kg more than a light truck, the maximum load capacity has gained support from a wide range of industries as a very well-balanced light truck.
In addition to low-floor / high-floor, there are many variations such as a hood / “torii” / panel van etc. Furthermore, in 1968, a one-box type MINIACE van and coach (wagon for 7 people) have also been added as a small version of the HiAce.
The MINIACE series, which was equipped with an air-cooled engine, could not clear the exhaust gas regulations in 1975, and unfortunately the production was discontinued in December of 1975.
This example is one of the final models that has undergone two minor changes and is considered as a standard truck that combines a two-door cab over with a high-floor loading platform.
A point to note is the fact that the mileage is only 23,000km, despite the fact that it is practically a one-owner (continuous registration within the family) vehicle. Although some changes could be made to adapt to more modern preferences, the condition is also good, and it is an example that can withstand practical use even at its current state.
