It made a debut in 1994 as a successor to the VFR 750R (RC30) for partaking in the World Superbike Championship. Homologated motorcycles were sold in limited quantities of 500 examples in Japan and 550 overseas (resumed production on a built-to-order basis for a limited period later), and completed racing motorcycles were also sold by Honda Racing.
This example was manufactured in 1995 as a racing motorbike to participate in the Suzuka 8hours Endurance Race in the same year before the registration. It was registered in 2000 after having been used at the race and deregistered in 2003. It has been stored in the owner’s garage after the deregistration.
It is equipped with the completed engine of HRC NL5 (no stamped number is
found on the engine case, but the aluminum plate shows the NL5 engine
number). The deregistration certificate is also available with the vehicle.
