1954 Jaguar XK120 Drophead Coupe
- 1,769 units of XK120 Drophead Coupes were ever produced
- Rare right-hand drive vehicle (only 298 units produced)
- Final year model of the XK120
The engine is an in-line 6 cylinder equipped with an aluminum cylinder head and a twin SU carburetor. Employing the DOHC from OHV of the SS100, it was at that time, a ground-breaking design. Displacement was 3,442cc and standard compression rate at 160hp/5,500rpm.
The model name “XK120” comes from the fact that the official maximum speed exceeds 120mph(193km/h). The overall quality of the vehicle is on the same level as its name, solidifying Jaguar’s international fame in countries such as the United States.
The example put up for auction has wire wheels which was available as an option. For this reason, it is not equipped with the rear fender spats that interfere with the center lock nuts.
