This Mini is a sportier Cooper version with a 4-speed manual gearbox and a fuel injected 1.3-litre engine, fuel injection was introduced in 1991 and resulted in a power output of 62hp. This was almost 10hp more than the automatic and 'Mayfair' variants.
Compared to the carbureted engines, the greatest advantage that injection brought was the ability to start without issues regardless of weather conditions. It also increased efficiency and it provided more torque at lower rev-range and improved acceleration.
