Racing version of a water-cooled Porsche

The Type 996, the fifth generation of the Porsche 911, was the first model in the 911 series to undergo a full model change. It was also the first 911 model to be equipped with a water-cooled engine as part of measures to address environmental issues, which were becoming increasingly strictly regulated.

The round headlights that had been the symbol of the 911 were replaced by parts common to the front of the Boxster (968), which was hugely popular at the time, in order to reduce costs. The headlamps were changed from 2002 and referred to as the late model.

This car is one of those late models, but it is not just any Type 996. This GT3 Cup Car is equipped with a 3,600 cc horizontally-opposed engine, a crankcase that is in the tradition of the 911 GT1 that competed in Le Mans, titanium connecting rods, a dry sump lubrication system with a separate oil tank, and a water-cooled oil cooler. The powertrain features a 6-speed manual transmission of the same design as the higher output 911 GT2 transmission, and the suspension is equipped with adjustable sway bars and spring damper units with separate height and bump/rebump adjustment. Brakes include front 6-pot calipers and 350 mm brake discs.

The GT3 Cup is a genuine Type D 996 racing car, developed on the basis of the 911 GT3. It was also the last Porsche Cup car to adopt the H-pattern, and is still very popular today.
This particular car is equipped with Recaro crested bucket seats for the passenger seat, which not only demonstrates high performance on various circuits, but also allows the car to be driven at a high level as a coaching car. Although there is no record about this car's participation in races, the odometer reads 2,985 km, and the car is in a clean condition.
