1972 Nissan Fairlady Z432R

  • Racing version of the Z432
  • 0.2mm thinner body than the base model
  • Over 100kg of weight reduction achieved
  • Equipped with a 100 L fuel tank for endurance racing
  • Incredibly rare model, believed to be one of 30 to 50 produced

The Z432 was offered as a high-performance variant of the S30 Fairlady Z, equipped with the same 2L DOHC S20 unit as the first-generation Skyline GT-R.

The Z432R was the racing version of the Z432, weighing in at 100 kg lighter than the base model. To do this, the R was fitted with an FRP hood, steel body panels 0.2 mm thinner than the standard S30, and lightweight acrylic side and rear windows.

The fuel tank was specially designed for endurance racing, with a 100L capacity (standard was 60L).

While the engine was basically the same as that of the Z432, the air cleaner was removed and the carburetor funnels were stripped to bare metal in order to allow the engine to be finer tuned.
The maximum output of the engine was 160 hp and 177 Nm of torque, unchanged from the base Z432.
The interior was simplified, omitting all comfort equipment, such as the radio and heater, and the seats are full buckets with no reclining mechanism.
The Spartan specification means all that's required to get straight to racing is fitting a roll cage.

Although the original SOLEX Mikuni carburetors have been replaced with Weber carburetors, this is a genuine verified “R”, with VIN PS30-00262.
