1980 Yamaha TZ500

  • Engine has never been started nor ran
  • Single owner for 40 years
  • Spare parts have never been opened
  • Comes with Goodyear rear slick tires

The TZ500 (4A0) is Yamaha's first 500cc commercial road racer, which appeared as a replica model of the YZR500, and is also a factory machine operated by Kenny Roberts, who has won consecutive road race world championships for two consecutive years since 1978.
In addition to the original new mechanism YPVS (Yamaha Power Valves System), the main body parts such as the frame are also equipped with factory machine equipment, and it has been supplied to world privateers as the highest model following in continuance with the world-leading 125,250,350cc models.

This example was supplied from the maker, Yamaha Motor Company, through an acquaintance of the owner who was deeply inspired by the success of YZR500 at the time. The works machine driven by Kenny Roberts utilized Good Year tires instead of DUNLOP tires that were normally installed on the TZ500 when shipped out of manufacture, because Kenny Roberts' personal sponsor was Goodyear. Thus, the owner has ordered unused Goodyear rear slick tires from Yamaha and these will come along with this example. Furthermore, since the engine has never been started nor ran, a wooden box containing a set of parts supplied as overhaul parts is also included in an unopened state also come along with this example.
