Based on the 911 GT3, the GT3 RS is more track-oriented with added power and reduced weight.
It is an ultra-high-performance model that inherits the traditional Porsche ‘RS’ (Rennsport) name in the modern era and is the peak model of the NA911.
Despite the high sticker price of ¥25 million when new, the car was incredibly popular around the world.

The base engine is the same as the GT3. Previous GT3 RS’s used a GT1 crankshaft and an air-cooled underbody, for the Type 991, this was replaced by a newly designed, horizontally opposed, six-cylinder direct-injection unit. Displacement was 3996 cc, up 200 cc from the GT3; maximum output was 500 hp at 8250 rpm, an increase of 25 hp; maximum torque was 46.9 kgm at 6250 rpm, an increase of 2.0 kgm; despite the longer crank length and higher piston speeds, the engine could rev to 9000 rpm. The high com- pression ratio of 12.9 and direct injection technology is likely what makes this possible. As with the GT3, the only transmission availa- ble is a dual-clutch 7-speed PDK.

The GT3 RS is based on a wider ‘turbo body’, with carbon wings at the rear as well as the front, and is 28 mm wider than the GT3. The roof has been replaced by magnesium and the rear glass is polycarbonate. Turbo-like intakes on the rear fenders help to re- duce lift and generate negative pressure, and combined with the high-mounted GT wing, the GT3 RS generates more than twice the downforce of the GT3.

The increased power of the engine and the special tuning of the RS in various areas make the GT3 RS a road-legal racing car.

This example is finished in Ultraviolet Purple, a popular special colour for the model. Ultraviolet is a rare colour as it is not regis- tered as a catalogue colour, there are thought to be under 300 in this colour.

The car is equipped with a front lift, leather package, carbon bucket seats and other well-tested options, and the fact that it has only 5,409 kilometers, is a one-owner and has never been driven on the track adds even more value to this car.
