BH AUCTION at CITY CIRCUIT TOKYO BAY

1994 BMW M3

  • No reserve
  • 0 yen starting bid
  • Engine confirmed to start
  • Early model equipped with a 5-speed manual transmission
  • Accompanied by registration documents

Introduced in 1992 and launched the following year, the second-generation BMW M3—known internally as the E36—featured the celebrated S50B30 3.0-liter inline-six engine. Produced until 1995, this early variant was offered exclusively with a 5-speed manual gearbox and remains the most widely produced generation of the M3, with 71,242 examples built. Revered both as a pure embodiment of BMW’s “silky six” philosophy and as a defining symbol of 1990s automotive culture, the E36 M3 continues to enjoy enduring popularity—whether preserved in original form or customized for performance.

This example has been stored outdoors for an extended period and is currently not in road-ready condition, though the engine has been confirmed to start. The car shows clear signs of previous modifications likely intended for circuit use, including the removal of some interior trim and headliner, installation of a roll cage, a four-point harness paired with the original seats, a carbon-fiber bonnet, and a large rear wing.

While showing approximately 120,000 km and requiring mechanical restoration, underbody photos reveal minimal corrosion—making it a promising candidate for refurbishment. Whether restored to personal specification or used as a valuable parts donor, this E36 M3 remains a worthwhile and increasingly rare opportunity to own a piece of BMW’s motorsport legacy.
