2009 Lamborghini Gallardo Super Trofeo
The Gallardo Super Trofeo, a race car produced by Lamborghini with the aim of hosting the "world's fastest one-make race series”, only 34 of these race cars were produced. It’s equipped with a 90-degree 5-litre V10 that produces 570hp. The chassis was reworked for it to become a real racing machine, and the interior was simplified with carbon panels and a roll cage, achieving a kerb weight of 1300kg. In May 2009, Swiss luxury watch manufacturer, Blancpain became the main sponsor and the one-make race series was kicked off under the title “Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo” at the Silverstone Circuit in the UK. In the following years, subsequent races were held at some of the world's most famous circuits, including Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium and Monza in Italy.
This car has a particularly special history among the 34 units produced. Wearing the official graphics of the Swiss company Blancpain, the title sponsor of the Super Trofeo series, it has been carefully maintained and served mainly as the company's display car, and has never been raced therefore keeping its as new condition until now. Although it will need some work done before it can be driven, the thought of the screaming V10 waking up should give people goosebumps. We can imagine fans around the world waiting to one day see this car where it belongs, on track.
