2004 PORSCHE CARRERA GT
- One of 1,270 units produced
- The 286th model out of the 1,270 units produced
- Only 6,500km clocked on the odometer
- A Porsche Japan official dealer vehicle
The Porsche Carrera GT was world premiered at the Geneva Auto Show in 2003. Unlike the 911GT1 which did well in the GT category races such as the 24 Hours of LeMans in the latter years of the 1990s, only 1500 examples were produced as an on road supercar.
Still, this is a Porsche. Carrera GT (Project Code 980) is packed with cutting edge technology of the time, such as a chassis with a carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP) monocoque tab combined with the rear subframe, a first for a factory-produced car.
This example with only 6,500km on its odometer, and imported by an official dealership, with a brown-colored interior is still in good condition. 1500 examples were supposed to be produced but, only 1270 rolled out of the factory in Leipzig, for this reason the rarity of Carrera GT has increased.
As the popularity of the “3rd Supercar Boom” generation in the early part of 2000s rise, the value of a conventional 6-speed MT race-car-level Porsche Super Sports is certain to rise. This is an excellent chance to get a hand on a well-kept example.
