1992 Porsche 911 Carrera RS N/GT [Type 964]

  • Believed to be one of under 300 N/GTs
  • Race variant for the road
  • Magnesium wheels
  • Full bucket seats & roll cage

The 1992 Type 964 Carrera RS was the car that brought back the famous RennSport nomenclature which was last used for the 1973 Carrera RS 2.7. The Type 964 generation of the Carrera RS came in several versions; the M002 code signified a standard base model or Touring, while the M003 code was for the N/GT, and the M001 code being reserved for the Cup racing cars. The N/GT name stands for FIA Group N and GT racing.

This example is an N/GT which was the closest one could get to a race car for the road. It kept the same 3.6 Liter engine of the standard Carrera RS but received several performance-focused upgrades to the chassis. The body was reinforced, a roll cage was welded in Weissach, and the clutch, brakes, and suspension were also reinforced to withstand the tough racing demands. The wheels are 17” magnesium Cup wheels and the Recaro bucket seats are made with flame-retardant material. The N/GT variant was often called Clubsport, which is a name that would be carried over to the following generation of Type 993 cars.

This example shows just 46,895 km on the odometer. The exterior is finished in Grand Prix White. Among the approximately 2,000 Type 964 Carrera RSs made, it is believed that fewer than 300 were N/GTs, making this a very rare car. The racing pedigree, limited production numbers, and classic Porsche styling have made the N/GT a highly desirable model for Porsche enthusiasts.
