Only 99 units of THE 8 X JEFF KOONS were produced worldwide, all delivered through official BMW dealers. This example is the only one ever delivered in Japan. Based on the BMW M850i xDrive Gran Coupé, it features exclusive exterior and interior designs created by American contemporary pop artist Jeff Koons.

Its energetic, powerful appearance combines 11 different body colors—blue, silver, yellow, black, and more—arranged in bold geometric patterns that pay tribute to the intricate contours and shapes of the sporty M850i xDrive Gran Coupé. At the rear, Koons incorporates a nod to his 2010 M3 GT2 Art Car, which competed at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, blending BMW’s celebrated Art Car heritage with a vision for a new chapter in the brand’s history.

The elaborate paintwork was executed entirely by hand at BMW Group’s Dingolfing and Landshut plants, taking more than 200 hours to complete. Inside, the cabin features striking red-and-blue upholstery, evoking the aesthetic of American comic book superheroes, further enhancing its sense of exclusivity.

This particular example was imported by Motoren Tokun, an official BMW dealer in Japan, and has been used to date as a dealer demo car.
