The second-generation GT-R, the BNR32, was released in 1989, marking a 16-year hiatus since the KPGC110 model. It was equipped with a specially designed RB26DETT turbo engine, and incorporated cutting-edge technology such as the ATTESA E-TS electronic torque split 4WD system and SUPER HICAS. The result of ten years of development, the BNR32 became the first mass-produced car from Japan to record the world’s fastest lap time at the Nürburgring.

With its overwhelming performance, it quickly dominated the racetrack, and the GT-R became so dominant that it was often joked that it turned into a one-make race. With total sales surpassing 40,000 units, the BNR32 became a huge hit. Following models like the BNR33 and BNR34 saw sales only a fraction of this number.

This specific vehicle was acquired by the owner in 1990, just a year after the car’s debut, and has been lovingly maintained for 35 years. While the ownership title was officially transferred to the owner’s wife, it is essentially a 1-owner car.

The BNR32 was purchased as a replacement for the original Soarer GT Limited, a quintessential luxury sports car at the time. While the BNR32’s ride quality and interior comfort are not particularly high, the owner has fond memories of long family road trips with their two children in the rear seats, as well as the thrill of driving the first 4WD car they owned, which led to many spirited drives.

Currently, the car is equipped with ENKEI wheels, a TEIN suspension, and an HKS exhaust, and the ECU has been modified to remove the speed limiter. The driver’s seat has been replaced with a Recaro racing seat. The car has certainly been driven seriously in the past.

The exterior has been repaired several places, but the overall condition is still good. The vehicle has experienced rain leakage in the past, and there are water stains on the headliner. However, the dashboard is free from cracks, and the original passenger and rear seats are in remarkably well-maintained condition, indicating it was genuinely used by the family.

Despite being a car the owner has cherished for many years, the increasing prices of JDM Neo-Classics and the rise in theft and vandalism cases made the owner decide to part with it. The owner wanted to find someone who would cherish the car and experience the joy of driving the BNR32, rather than continue living in fear of the potential risks.

Though the price of the BNR32 has soared in recent years, this car has been modified for driving enjoyment, while still retaining many original parts. The service records have been meticulously kept, making it a well-documented and cherished vehicle.
