1970 Nissan Skyline GT-R (KPGC10)
- In good condition, carefully cared for and stored in a warehouse for 27 years
- Highly original condition
- Overhauled carburettors and fuel system
- Original exhaust
This KPGC10 Skyline GT-R is a rare car in highly original condition. It was stored for 27 years inside a warehouse which has helped keep it in good condition. During this period it was fully repainted, likely over 20 years ago, but the finish remains pristine with no rust or cracks which indicates that it was carefully maintained. While the rear wing is an aftermarket modification, the fenders, exhaust and other often replaced parts are original and untouched.
The interior is also highly original with the exception of the driver’s seat which was upholstered. Overall the leather, wood and especially the floor are in great condition. There are no signs of rust, repairs or paintwork. The odometer is showing about 14,000km however the exact mileage is unknown.
According to the current owner, he first saw the car when he met the previous owner at the warehouse the car was stored in. The car was covered in a blanket and it was clear to him that the car was being kept by a real petrolhead judging by the tidy state of the warehouse.
When the blanket was removed the clean and well maintained GT-R was revealed. The owner would drive it once a week around the house and never took it on track or drove it aggressively despite loving the car so much.
What also makes this car special is the 0000023 VIN. In Japanese 2 is pronounced “ni” and 3 is “san” which together becomes “nisan”, an unlikely coincidence which of course makes this car unique.
After it was acquired by Mr. Watanabe from Rocky Auto, the carburettors and fuel system were overhauled and apart from repainting the wheels, the rest of the car was untouched. This means the engine and suspension are stock and completely original, a rare sight with Hakosukas these days. While the car is in good condition it is also evident that it has been in storage for a long period of time. Therefore, those who plan to go on ‘spirited’ drives with this car should service the engine and suspension.
Not many KPGC10 Skyline GT-R remain in such beautiful condition, so it deserves a new owner who will love and care for the car as much as its previous owners.
