1994 Porsche 911 Turbo 3.6 (964)
- 3.6-litre turbocharged engine
- Mileage: 49,468km
- Optional sunroof
Since its launch in 1964, Porsche has kept their flagship’s rear-engine layout unchanged. The 964 is the 3rd generation of the 911, introduced in 1989 and sold for five years until 1994.
The exterior was changed to integrate bumpers while keeping the 911 look. Power-steering was introduced, and for the first time four-wheel drive and automatic gearboxes were made available. It was a big evolution over the 930 generation and approximately 64,000 were produced over five years.
Like the previous generation, the 964 was available with both NA and turbocharged engines. NA models included the Carrera RS which was based on the Carrera 2 but with weight reduction and increased rigidity, as well as the 30 Jahre Speedster which was launched to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the 911, this generation had many popular variants. On the other hand, 964 Turbos were powered by the M30 engine, an evolution of the 930 Turbo’s 3.3-litre engine producing 320hp and the new M64 engine, a 3.6-litre with 360hp which gave this car the “Turbo 3.6” name. The 3.6 was only available between 1993 and 1994, only 1,407 were made which makes it a rare model that’s very sought after by Porsche fans. It has wide wheel arches, a characteristic of Turbo models, a rear wing which is mostly the same as the one from the 930 Turbo and two oval-shaped tailpipes that were fitted from factory. The wheels are another distinct feature of the 3.6, they are genuine Speedline 18-inch three-piece wheels, these are matched with red brake calipers which are in excellent condition.
The optional sunroof and Sony CD changer really gives the car a 90s feel. It has covered 49,468km (may increase due to transportation), but the Speed Yellow paint, black leather upholstery and sport seats are all in good condition.
The underside and exhausts have no signs of scrapping, the overall condition inside and out are very good.
