Introduced at Ferrari’s Maranello headquarters in May 1994 and unveiled publicly at that year’s Geneva Motor Show, the F355 became a landmark success for Ferrari. Over its five-year production run through 1999, a total of 11,165 units were built, making it the highest-volume Ferrari model in the company’s history at the time.
Its mid-mounted 3,495cc V8 DOHC engine featured premium materials including forged aluminum pistons and titanium connecting rods, all precisely managed by Bosch Motronic electronics. Producing 380 hp at a thrilling 8,200 rpm, it was paired with Ferrari’s first-ever 6-speed manual gearbox, later joined by the F1 transmission option. Beyond the impressive figures, the F355 remains celebrated for its soaring, crystal-clear exhaust note—one of the most captivating sounds ever to come from Maranello.
The F355 evolved through three chassis generations: early PA, mid-series PR, and final XR. This example is a late-production XR chassis car, the most refined version of the model, featuring upgraded Motronic M5.2 management, standard dual airbags, remote locking, and improved emissions compliance for enhanced usability and safety.
This is the Spider version, added to the range in 1995, and one of just 3,717 produced, including only 2,644 manual-transmission cars. While many F355s have been modified over time, this example’s greatest strength is its remarkable originality, preserved from the mechanical components to its elegant Nero black interior.
Showing 34,562 km, the car remains in superb condition. The prancing horse floor mats, seats, and steering wheel all present with minimal wear, reflecting careful ownership. Rather than being left idle as a display piece, it has clearly been driven with care and maintained properly—an outstanding open-air opportunity to experience the full voice of Ferrari’s legendary V8.
