The “CTR/Carrera Turbo RUF (aka: Yellow Bird)”, was created by the German RUF Automobile, with the Porsche 911 Carrera as the base model. The US automobile magazine “Road & Track” conducted a fastest commercial car challenge in which this example recorded a 339.8km/h in 1987 breaking the record of that time (later bested its own record with a 342.km/h), this 911 is still considered legendary.

Updating 911’s 3.2-liter air-cooled flat-six engine by enlarging the distribution and combining it with a twin turbo system with a Bosch injection and a build-up intercooler, realized a maximum output of 469ps. This spec is said to be the guaranteed minimum; the official number, if in its best condition is said to be, a maximum output of 510ps.

The RUF had two purchasing methods for the CTR at that time. The first was to purchase the complete model. The complete model was based on the white body which RUF purchased from Porsche. Only 30 was sold. 11 of them were officially imported to Japan and sold for 560,000 JPY.

The second option is to combine a special “CTR Kit” (conversion) with the body brought in by the customer itself, this example is a conversion spec.

The conversion was conducted at the Ruff’s headquarters in Germany in 1991. The base model was a 1989 911 Carrera Turbo look. Engine number “CTR J 037”, with a late model six-speed manual transmission. Exterior, interior both are perfectly made into a CTR, and comes with a warranty for the conversion process. Conducted by a genuine “RUF” conversion, this is a valuable CTR.

A complete car CTR can fetch close to 100 million yen. Considering you can get your hands on a mostly same spec, a conversion spec, at a much cheaper price, this could be a smart decision.

This example has only 34,000km on the odometer, interior and exterior, engine and its related parts are all in excellent condition. It is a once in a lifetime opportunity to get your hands on an excellent condition example which has been taken care of.
