2019 Porsche 911 Speedster [Type 991]
- One of 1,948 worldwide
- Odometer shows 202 km
- Equipped with the factory-ordered Heritage Design Package
- Introduced as the final model of the 991-generation Porsche 911
- Parallel-imported new vehicle
Distinct from the 911 Cabriolet and Targa in design, this example carries a clear echo of the historic Speedster lineage.
Unveiled as a concept at the October 2018 Paris Motor Show, held to commemorate the brand’s 70th anniversary, the Type 991 911 Speedster represents the Speedster variation of the 991-generation 911.
It combines the chassis of the GT3 with the body shell of the Carrera 4 Cabriolet. Power comes from a naturally aspirated 4.0-liter flat-six producing 510 PS and 47.9 kgm of torque, 10 PS more than the engine in the standard GT3.
Further enhancing its driver-focused character, it is fitted with the same 6-speed manual gearbox found in the 911 R and the GT3 Touring, not the standard 7-speed transmission of the 991 series. This gearbox is said to be 4 kg lighter than the 7-speed. A titanium exhaust system is also fitted.
Externally, the car features the distinctive double-bubble rear tonneau cover, a shortened windshield frame, lightweight side window glass, and a manually operated fabric roof. This roof mechanism is identical to that of the 911 Speedster Concept unveiled at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, recalling the spirit of the 356 Speedster.
The interior is trimmed in a two-tone Cognac and Black leather combination. Even the carbon bucket seats are leather-appointed, harmonizing classic colorways with modern design.
This example is specified with Porsche’s first Heritage Design Package. Finished in GT Silver Metallic, it features white-painted front detailing, wide B-pillars, and gold-plated “Speedster” script at the rear. Notably, the Heritage Design Package was available only through direct factory order in Germany.
As the final iteration of the 991-generation 911, this car embodies a tribute to Porsche’s storied past through its special options and detailing. With a mere 202 km on the odometer, it is certain to become an increasingly significant and collectible example in the years to come.
