1970 NISSAN SKYLINE 2000 GT-R (KPGC10)
- Equipped with the iconic S20 inline-six engine
- Finished in the rare factory color “Skyline Brown”
- Excellent overall condition—mechanical and cosmetic
- Features the final-specification K4 cylinder head
Debuting in 1969, the Skyline 2000 GT-R—affectionately known as “Hakosuka” (a portmanteau of hako meaning box and Skyline)—quickly achieved legendary status both on the street and in motorsport. In 1970, Nissan introduced the two-door hardtop variant, the KPGC10, which was produced for only about two years, with an estimated total of just 1,197 units. Its rarity, combined with its competition pedigree, has made it one of Japan’s most celebrated performance icons.
This particular example is finished in “Skyline Brown,” a color available only during the earliest production period of 1970. Its chassis number, 58, further confirms that it belongs to the very first batch of KPGC10s produced. Given this early number, it is highly likely that the car originally left the factory in this distinctive hue.
Externally, the car retains its authentic appearance, with factory-correct tires, wheels, and hubcaps that evoke the aesthetic of the original GT-R. Beneath the bonnet lies the revered 2.0-liter S20 engine featuring the final K4-specification cylinder head—distinguished by longer valves, lightweight valve lifters, and reinforced block construction with coated iron liners for enhanced durability and performance.
Although the seats have been reupholstered and the exhaust system upgraded with aftermarket components, this example remains remarkably true to its original specification. More than half a century after its debut, it continues to present in outstanding condition—faithful to the spirit and detail of the first-generation Skyline GT-R.
A rare opportunity to acquire one of the earliest and most desirable examples of Japan’s most revered sports car.
