1992 Strosek Mega Conversion [Type 964]
- Strosek “Mega” conversion
- Type 964 Cabriolet base car
- Tiptronic transmission
Strosek is a tuning company founded in 1971 by Vittorio Strosek. Strosek designs were incredibly popular in the 1990s, mostly famous for their Porsche customisations. The designs had a distinct personality with a rounded feeling, which contrasted the mainstream pointed edges of popular models by AMG and AC Schnitzer.
This example was converted from the “Mega” model that made Strosek famous. The base car is a 911 type 964 Cabriolet with Tiptronic transmission. The conversion was done using Strosek parts that were ordered then assembled in Japan.
The exterior features a wide body and compact projector headlights, the rounded design playing well with the pink body colour. The interior is white and remains clean, with no cracks or major sun damage on the dashboard, however there is some wear on the lower door panels. The white gauges and carpets, exclusive to Strosek, add to the specialness.
The recent surge in popularity and value of air-cooled Porsches has been spectacular, and it only continues to rise. This Strosek conversion is one of the most collectible of its kind.
