BLITZ GR SUPRA WIDE (2019 Toyota GR Supra RZ)

  • Overall winner of the 2020 Custom Car Contest
  • “Luxury” original full aerodynamics
  • Carbon intake ducts
  • Increased power to 366hp thanks to “Power Thro” (throttle controller)

This is the BLITZ show car that won the 2020 Tokyo Auto Salon Custom Car Contest's "Best Dress Up Car" award. The exterior of the car has been fully wrapped in white pearl.
BLITZ's aeroparts, "Aerospeed R Concept", are not just cosmetic, but also about taking advantage of the wide and sculpted body of the GR Supra and transforming it into a more refined and mature sports car.
The award-winning design is striking and innovative, making it a never-before-seen look for the Supra.
It has been widened by 30mm at the front and 50mm at the rear, making it over 2m wide and giving it real presence. The car sits on wide 20 inch 11.0J+15 Enkei Racing Revolution RS05RR wheels.
The body looks powerful but sophisticated while maintaining the original sculpted lines. The distinctive front bumper, which is 70mm longer than the standard, gives the powerful wide body a sleeker look. The low-mounted rear wing does not make too much of a statement and is well integrated into the overall concept of the car. It is, of course, able to pass vehicle inspections.
On the mechanical side it has BLITZ original brakes and ZZ-R dampers, which can be adjusted from the inside the car. These provide braking power and handling that can be enjoyed on winding roads and track. Carbon intake ducts increase power by around 5.2hp, and 'Power Thro' (throttle controller) increases power and response, meaning power reaches 366hp.
The exterior has presence but a mature look, and with its high specification, it can handle everything from the street to the track, all thanks to BLITZ's expertise in user-oriented customisation.

Who are BLITZ?

BLITZ is a well-established aftermarket parts manufacturer that has been developing, producing and selling tuning products since 1980. They have an extensive lineup of products for a larger range of cars, not just sports cars but also ordinary sedans and family cars.
These have been developed with a specific philosophy, “following the rules”, meaning these parts are not only compliant with vehicle inspections but they’re also safe and reliable. They have gone through real world testing for users’ ease of mind and are easy to use. In particular, they have highly rated electronic products that increase performance with simple installation.
The company also tuned for outright speed, often visiting the Yatabe test course to take their projects to the limit of their full potential. What was particularly impressive was their Nürburgring lap record for a tuned car.
To beat the 7:53 lap record set by the Gemballa Biturbo GTR600, BLITZ chose the A80 Supra and at the same time, risked the company’s fortunes attempting this. Despite the difficult task, BLITZ was determined to use parts available on the market, so they didn’t install any special parts. This was the company’s typical way of providing feedback for parts that users could buy. With every run they gradually improved the car and eventually beat the record, showing the world that BLITZ could make what was essentially one of the fastest cars in the world.
What made their name known to the world was their entry as a works team in D1 Grand Prix (Japanese pro drift championship). Interestingly they chose the ER34 Skyline and although there were concerns about the weight of the car it was steadily upgraded. The use of FRP and carbon for the doors and boot lid, and the use of sequential transmissions, which are now commonplace, made BLITZ somewhat of a pioneer. They have always been part of the evolution of drift cars and have made history in the Japanese drift scene.
BLITZ's stage-free concept has enabled the company to set many records and manufacture high quality parts. Behind this was the company's conviction to always look at things from the user's point of view and to put safety first. It’s because of this attitude that BLITZ has grown to become one of the leading aftermarket parts manufacturers in Japan, and continues to receive great support from many users.
