The All Japan GT Championship (JGTC) ,now known as Super GT ,began in 1993 and remains a popular touring car race series to this day.
The car presented is a Supra that participated in JGTC.
Hironori Takeuchi, the current owner, stepped up to the GT500 class in 1996 and piloted this Supra.
Takeuchi achieved notable success with the Castrol livery Supra in his GT500 debut race in 1996,
securing victories over the years, including a championship in 2001 with the au livery.
Marked with 'Ukyo' on the seat rail and '0003' on the roll cage, its speculated to be the #38 FK Massimo car used by Takeuchi and Yuji Tachikawa in 2000.
This car achieved Tachikawa's first GT500 win of his 23 years driving in the series.
Later on,despite being a contender for the championship until the final race at Motegi, a chassis was newly constructed for car #38,
while this specific car was entered as #33 cdmaOne Cerumo Supra.
It was driven by Takayuki Kinoshita and Masahiko Kondo, securing a season-first 10th place finish in Suzuka.
With the end of season, it was retired and stored by Cerumo's management.
However, after a crash at Suzuka during the 6th race of the 2001 JGTC,the car reappeared at the circuit as a spare for the 7th race at Mine.
Despite being an older model,it finished 13th and retired from the series after this race.
It was leased to KRAFT Corporation and aorned with the livery of their 2003 vehicle,#35 Project μ Espelir Supra, touring various events.
Consequently, hints of this period still remain today, with ENKEI wheels and DUNLOP tires currently fitted.
Its future includes the excitement of being restored to a pristine condition, potentially even sporting a new livery to be decided uopn.
