Located near Itami Airport in Osaka is Nagisa Auto, a company that manufactures parts, builds vehicles, and performs maintenance with a specialty in circuit driving. During the Covid-19 pandemic, Nagisa Auto spent a significant amount of time and effort using their expertise to create this car based on the Honda CR-X SiR.
Based on a stripped out EF8, the car was modified to improve its circuit driving capabilities with the intention of participating in track days and endurance races.
The B16A N1 engine is controlled by MoTeC and was tested on a dyno as well as in a real car by specialists. The displacement has not been changed from the base model, however the brakes have been replaced with EK-type Civic Type R calipers and the rotors have been enlarged to increase braking power.
The undercarriage, which is one of Nagisa Auto’s specialties, was thoroughly blasted to remove all traces of rust, then cationic electrodeposition coating and powder coating was applied. The bushings are made by MUGEN, and pillow ball joints have been used wherever possible.
The transmission is a 5-speed EG transmission with a 4.4 final drive mounted in the popular wire clutch YS1 case.
The car has been tested on a circuit, and has proven its potential by running under 90 seconds on S tires at the Central Circuit.
As for the exterior, the car is still in the repair stage. Currently, only a white wrapping sheet is applied over it.
The drivetrain has been finished to perfection, but there is still room for modifications to be made, and the exterior has yet to be finished, so it can be enjoyed on the circuit as is, or finished little by little. It is a car that is fun to drive and fun to build.
